  1. On the subject of search again .. look at how our friends across the pond make it work .. http://www.firstgov.gov .. good search capability with a detailed high level index which then drops you through the right departmental website .. clean and quick

  2. Intersting article in The Reghttp://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/12/23/e_govt/If 97% of local e-gov services are now online, and looking at the low number of services on Gateway, does this mean e-gov is a success and Gateway is the failure?

  3. Intersting article on search ..http://us.cnn.com/2005/TECH/12/23/john.bartelle/index.htmlMost important part ..\”It\’s interesting that the largest businesses on the Internet — whether it\’s Amazon, Ebay, Google or Yahoo — are all search driven. Search is becoming navigational interface. The way we use to navigate this vast knowledge, space that exists out there is much larger than anything we could jump up on the computer. This is the computer connected to the rest of the world. We need to find a way to understand how to make a sense of all that, and searches become our way.\”These comments capture perfectly my arguement that the success to e-gov is search – the sheer scale of the information and services that e-gov can provide need to be navigated by an intelligent search capability.

  4. Ok, so search is the business, e-business, e-govt, etc.Google is great, search rules, without it we are doomed as so on … …Can we all make a new year resolution to move the debate on? There is only so much to be said about search here, as we are beginning to repeat each other.

  5. Low number of Gateway services…? Are we reading the same report? There are over 100 Gateway enabled services!
